For generations, Xàbia’s harbour neighbourhood has gathered each September to honour the Mare de Déu de Loreto. On this night, Duanes de la Mar belongs to fire: drums sound through its streets as Xarxa Teatre’s correfoc sends sparks across the crowd. Beyond the smoke lies the port around which this old fishing neighbourhood grew, its celebration carried on beside the sea.
